The lens Live is missing: the detected key with an honest confidence %, the chord over every bar with its roman-numeral degree, scale rows shaded, out-of-key notes flagged red. Hover a note for its degree. Works on MIDI, drum grooves — even audio.

effects you can play
Sixteen effect blocks — eight for pitch on the note field, eight for rhythm on the lane below — and every one leaves its colour on the notes it touches. Drag to place and stretch, ∗ to surprise yourself, randomise all for a new direction. Then quantise the grid and humanize the feel back in.

A pull on the pitches — drag its curve right on the roll.
shimmer
Sprinkle octave sparkle over the top of the part.
sus
Lean the chords toward sus2 or sus4, as far as you drag.
pedal
Hold a pedal tone under the phrase while the top keeps moving.

midi studio+ installs in seconds — Live 12’s new Extensions SDK lets you drag the .ablx straight into Ableton. From then on it’s a right-click away on any MIDI clip: read its key and chords, flick through suggestions, reharmonise, design, and write it back — all in one window.
